As we all know, March is women’s empowerment month, and it wouldn’t be the same without the Miss Universe. We celebrate all women of different religions, backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures. The Miss Universe family provides a safe, global platform for women to express their beliefs and become inspiring role models for young girls around the world.
Talking about powerful inspirational women, we have to start with Miss Universe queens. Here are some of our favorite quotes from our empowering Universe.
“A dream is a picture of a possibility. We should have a strong heart and a prepared mind to turn that into reality.”
Our queen Pia Wurtzbach, is our inspiration to follow our dreams, not letting them stay just that. We are all capable of achieving anything we set our minds to, as long as we have a strong heart and a prepared mind.
“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.”
Just like Siera Bearchell, we think it’s better to act in any situation than to have regrets about things you didn’t do or missed out on.
Have a chance at your dream job, but you’re too scared to take it? Or maybe you have a crush on someone and are afraid of letting them know? Think about it – what’s the worst that can happen if you take your chance? We say – go for it!
“If at first, you don’t succeed, try again. The miracle isn’t that you finished, it’s that you had the courage to start.”
Miss Jamie-Lee Faulkner is highlighting the significance of beginnings. Every beginning is as hard as it is important. Don’t be afraid to fail and start over, with faith in yourself and your abilities.
Don’t let anyone discourage you or put you down, you are a queen and you will have your miracle. All you need to do is take a step towards it.
“Be thankful for the struggles you go through. They make you stronger. Don’t let them break you, let them make you.”
Everyone has experienced some hardship, and that includes our beloved Christina Mikkelsen. She wants you to know that it’s important not to let hardships stop you. Hard times are here whether we like it or not. So, we should make the best of them! Use them to make you stronger and more resilient, but don’t let them define you.
“You owe it to yourself to be the best version you can be.”
It can be challenging at times to concentrate on your needs and priorities, says Chanelle de Lau. You owe it to yourself to make an effort to change, to become the best version of yourself that you can be. It takes a lot of work to be a queen, we know YOU know that best of all. It’s time to fix your crown.
“My wish for women is that they understand that they are extremely powerful and that it is their responsibility to take over from where the women of 1956 left off.”
Throughout the years, women gained freedom and equality with revolutionary stands. We wouldn’t be here in this instance without them, but this isn’t where the fight should stop, is what Zozibini Tunzi believes. We have to not only honor their sacrifices, but use them to help us move forward.
Women are much more than just their appearance. The Miss Universe was created to give women a platform to prove just that. You have the power to fight for what is right and take a stand.
“I just constantly tell myself that I should be the only one to define my worth and what I’m capable of and how I perceive myself. And that I should never source that worth from other people, especially strangers on social media. They don’t know who I am, the length of my journey, who I am as a person.”
In a time of social media and internet presence, we are constantly exposed to other people’s opinions and judgments. Those people don’t know who we are and what our achievements and stories are. They see only one segment of our lives that we choose to show.
So, don’t let people who don’t know you as a person affect your well-being and your perception of yourself. Like a queen, keep your head held high and know your worth comes only from YOU.
“… I realized that it is imperative to focus on mental health when I myself had to face adversities during the phase of my hospitalization. I realized that mental health is intrinsically linked to physical health and that together, we can break the stigmas and help people realize the purpose of their existence to extract the best of their potential… ”
Everyone struggled with mental health at some point. Even our queen, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu. But there is a stigma surrounding mental health we have to constantly fight. Talking about this contributes to normalization, which, in turn, helps people further.
Our Miss Harnaaz is helping us overcome the struggles we are facing by showing us she’s one of us. Struggles are not permanent barriers keeping your dreams out of reach. They are a rough path that is leading you to them. And just because a path is hard doesn’t mean you should give up. There IS light at the end of every tunnel.
Inspiration is Everywhere!
We hope our lovely and amazing queens inspired you as they did us. Each of them has a powerful message to live by, and here’s what we’ve learned from them:
- Every woman is special and unique in her own way
- Don’t let anyone stop you
- You are a creator of your life, a queen of your world
So, go ahead. Be the queen your world needs.
